Drunken Dad Let’s 8 Year Old Drive

We've seen it a hundred times, the shirtless drunken offender mug shot. This one is a little different, when this offender realized he was too drunk to drive he handed the keys over to his designated driver--an 8 year old! There was also a 4 year old in the back seat while dad was passed out in the front passenger seat.

Saturday morning police pulled the truck over along the Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish after multiple reports of erratic driving. Police report that the father was allowing the child to drive along their travel route from Mississippi to Texas. The boy was reportedly driving the speed limit of 70 mph when he was pulled over by the police. The children were taken into state custody and the dad, Billy Joe Madden,  is currently being held and is charged with child desertion and allowing a minor to drive.
