Last weekend started the annual "Youth Deer Hunting Week" here in Area 2 of Northwest Louisiana and it brought on tears of joy for scores of young hunters, including Peyton Roth, who's pictured here.  Also pictured are Tony Nichols, of Dream Hunt Foundation (left), and Charlie Owens, Chief Deputy of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.  Peyton Roth scored on his his first ever hunting trip.  Peyton's only 10 years old and suffers from cerebral palsy, but he didn't let his physical limitations hinder him when he couldn't properly view through the scope; instead, he used a cell phone that was attached to the scope on the .223 caliber rifle.

As we say in the hunting world...BBD.  (Big buck down!)

Peyton was able to go on this incredible hunting trip because of the efforts of the Dream Hunt Foundation.  Dream Hunt Foundation works closely with Shriner’s Hospital and is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 by Jeff Warren to provide a dream hunt experience for children with special needs or underprivileged children aged 11 to 18.

There were a total of 10 kids in the northwest area participating in this weekend's hunts and 3 of these youngsters were sponsored by Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.

Sheriff Whittington was pleased to provide a hunting opportunity for Peyton and two others, Jake Skipper and Dalton Cooper, in northern Bossier Parish.
