If you ever needed proof of why a dog is man's best friend, this one should do the trick.

Lauri da Costa is a homeless man from Brazil who just last month showed up at a hospital after someone hit him the face with a stone.  As doctors treated him for the wound, they discovered Lauri also had skin cancer.  So they did surgery to remove it, and he's been forced to stay in the hospital while recovering.

However, the real story is about Lauri's dog, Seco.  Seco accompanied Lauri to the doors of the hospital over two weeks ago and has been patiently waiting for him at those doors ever since.

After Lauri had been in the hospital several days, one of the hospital staffers took notice and starting giving Seco food and water.  And last week, after Lauri disappeared into the hospital eight days earlier, nurses wheeled him outside to the patiently waiting Seco to say "hi."

Take a look at the incredibly touching video of their reunion.
