Normally when the story starts off with "You ain't gonna believe this"...then don't!  But in this case, there are too many witnesses and even video to support the story....but "you ain't gonna believe this". Pictured is my "Uncle Gary"...Gary Wayne Brummett of Grand Cane, Louisiana and the huge 8 point buck he harvested earlier this morning.  The story actually began last night at his home on Highway 171 just north of Grand Cane.  He told me that around 10:00 Tuesday night, he walked outside and discovered this buck chasing a doe around his front yard.  30 minutes later the buck was still chasing the doe in the yard.  Then, Wednesday morning, hundreds of motorists on Highway 171 stopped to watch as the buck chased the doe back and forth across 171 with little regard for the fast moving traffic.  A Desoto Parish Deputy Sheriff even stopped at the scene to monitor what could be an extremely dangerous situation as this buck only had "one thing" on his mind...and it certainly wasn't those pesky cars or school buses. Uncle Gary, who was outside, enjoying his morning coffee, decided that something needed to be done, so he did what any good God fearin' Southern Redneck would do.  "I shot him in the neck".  "He won't be chasin' no does across the highway anymore."  Well, I guess things will be back to normal tomorrow morning.  But it does make me re-think all this time and money I've spent chasing whitetails all over God's creation.  Maybe I just need to have coffee each morning with Uncle Gary.  Hey, it's a thought.  Oh, and for deer freaks like me.  He measured just over 20 inches outside and weighed 180 pounds.
