Deputy Thomas Delrie is Recipient of Caught in the Act Award
Deputy Thomas Delrie of the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department is one of those men that we are so thankful to have in the lives of our children. Serving as the SRO Officer for Platt Elementary School fits him perfectly.
He absolutely loves kids and there's nothing he wouldn't do to insure the safety of a child or to make their lives just a little better because he's in it. And it's because of that genuine love, that he's this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Just read the nomination letter we received from the Platt Elementary parents.
If you drive down Hwy 80 in Haughton during school drop off and pick up times you are sure to see Deputy Delrie! Deputy Delrie is the SRO for Platt Elementary, and this man truly loves what he does. Everyday, rain or shine, he puts on his yellow vest and helps parents get in and out of the school by directing the Hwy 80 traffic. He helps the coaches in carline, getting kids loaded and unloaded quickly and safely so things run smoothly. Deputy Delrie walks the halls giving fist bumps and smiles to all the children, just being a positive romodel for all those he interacts with. He goes above and beyond to help Platt Elementary and their staff. He has held the door and greeted new parents as they come in the building, and even personally showed them where to go rather than just telling them. With all the bad things going on in the world, it's very reassuring to know our children have such a positive romodel in their lives that just happens to be a Deputy. Deputy Delrie is a staple in our community and we are beyond blessed to have him.
Deputy Thomas Delrie, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Thomas to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
