Are people more likely to be shallow and cheat on their significant other in today's age, or do we just hear about more instances of this happening due to social media?  My wife and I talk about this all the time.  On one hand, I definitely see more stories about infidelity than I used to.  On the other hand, I also see about thousand more "easy" Chicken Parmesan recipes now too - and I don't think that the world has gotten more chicken parmy.  That would be ok though.

One thing that I think social media has caused, is the myriad ways in which hooking up in general can not only happen - but go terribly wrong.  According to the New York Post, one of the "new" trends in dating among millennials is "Cushioning."  Cushioning is act of scouting out the next object of your desire while you are with your current object of desire.  How can this possibly work out?  I have gone out with multiple people concurrently, but no one was under the impression that some sort of exclusivity existed.  This trend is basically planning to cheat later and/or break up with my current for a draft pick to be named later on!

This is the latest dating trends like "Ghosting" - which means to disappear on someone you are dating (blocked on Facebook, not answering calls & texts, etc), or "Breadcrumbing" - that's when you string along a romantic hopeful that you have no intention of hooking up with.  Honestly, it makes me super happy that I am married and no longer dating.

Now, I just have to figure out what my wife means when she says "Fine."
