Crawfish season is here and several local spots have plenty of mudbugs for you to enjoy.  Of course, you will find the prices higher at the beginning of the season and that is no exception this year.

The cheapest price we could find on February 8th for live crawfish is at Cajun Seafood Depot on Barksdale Boulevard.  Prices are at $4.50 a pound for live mudbugs. Larry P's Boiling Pot and Farmer's Seafood are just under $5 a pound.

For boiled crawfish, you'll also find Chuck Wagon the cheapest at $6.95 with Larry P's a close 2nd at $6.99 a pound. B & D is charging $7.50 a pound this week.

Remember these prices will start to fall as soon as the weather warms up.  Last year, the prices for boiled crawfish dipped below $4.00 a pound at most places.

Best advice to crawfish connoisseurs is to call first before heading off to buy some bugs.  You want to make sure these hot spots are not sold out.
