The  "Christmas in Plain Dealing" Festival will be held November 26 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in the downtown park.   This year's festival includes all kinds of activities including art displays from local artists including Doyle Ethridge of Belcher, Denise Hill of Bossier City and Alma Lenear from Minden. There will be a children's art contest, a "Historical Pictures" display that includes a large collection of family photos, homes, churches, old businesses, old communities, flowers and landscapes.  You'll find loads of activities for the kids including crafts, moon walks, pony rides, a treasure hunt, story time and a clown with balloons.  Plus food booths, prize winning quilts from Piney Needles Quilting Guild of Springhill, book signing by local authors  Winnie Griggs and Richard Seaton, Sr.  and Red River Blacksmithing will return with demonstrations.  The festival also features live music in the park all day long.  Santa will come on the fire truck with candy for the children.  Then fireworks will close the festival.   For more information call 318 326-4234.
