The Texas Rangers have revealed plans for their new ballpark and it is very impressive! The new Globe Life Field is expected to be completed in 2020 and is going to cost around $1.1 Billion. One of the biggest changes to the park will be the retractable roof and air conditioning for those hot summer days. Designers want the stadium to feel like an open air outdoor stadium even when the retractable roof is in use. To accomplish this, they plan to use glass walls and lots of natural lighting to keep the stadium feeling like the outdoors. Another change to the stadium is less seating. The new stadium will seat about 42,000 people that is about 8,000 less than the number of people who can sit in the current stadium. Developers are reducing the number of seats in an effort to make the stadium more cozy.

The stadium is not the only new addition, next door there will be a brand new $150 million hotel. This will be the perfect location for out of town visitors to stay while they are in town to see Rangers and Cowboys games. The hotel is expected to be done by 2019.
