California Woman Divorces Husband Of 22 Years Because Of Who He Voted For

We all saw first hand how the 2016 election divided our nation causing families to fight and friendships to end over political arguments more than ever before. But one California woman took it a step further divorcing her husband of 22 years because he voted for Donald Trump.

73 year old Gayle McCormick said she was shocked when she heard her husband telling friends that he planned on voting for Trump. Yahoo News reports McCormick said "I felt like I had been fooling myself," she said. "It opened up areas between us I had not faced before. I realised how far I had gone in my life to accept things I would have never accepted when I was younger."

A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that in the past few months 16% of people have stopped talking to a family member because of the election and 39% said they've had argued with family and friends over the election.
