Louisiana Chef Paul Prudhomme, the man credited with popularizing Cajun and Creole cuisine, died Thursday. Prudhomme, who was 75, died in New Orleans after a brief illness. His most famous restaurant was the famous Crescent City eatery, K-Paul's.

Prudhomme was one of the TV's first celebrity chefs, which helped attract huge crowds to his restaurants. Over the years he hosted a number of cooking shows and authored nine cookbooks.
