Caddo Sheriff’s Office to hold Citizens’ Academy

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for its fall 2014 Citizens’ Academy. 

Participants in the Citizens’ Academy are given an inside look at the Sheriff‘s Office while learning about the specific areas where deputies serve and protect our community.

Citizens will have an opportunity to tour the Caddo Correctional Center, Court Security, the 911 Communications Center, Sheriff’s Safety Town, and the Sheriff’s Academy Shooting Range.  They will also learn about the Sheriff’s Office through classroom speakers and hands-on exercises involving firearms and safety training, crime scene processing, and demonstrations by the K-9 and SRT units.

The Citizens’ Academy will be held one evening or day each week from October 6 to December 2. It is free to participate, but applicants must be at least 18 years old. Applications are available online at www.caddosheriff.org or from the Community Programs Division at 1000 Grimmett Drive.  The deadline to apply is September 30.
