Last week, I went to New Orleans to stay the night and play on Bourbon Street before setting sail with my husband and six of our best friends on the Carnival Triumph headed to Cozumel and we had a blast!

During the trip we celebrated my 42nd birthday and as per usual I got the requisite gag gifts... I'll admit, it was slightly embarrassing having to list an adult toy on my customs form on our return!

Of course, on the way down to NOLA last week, we ran into the rain that has continued to plague our state and you know me, I took video. It was insane!

In New Orleans we went out to eat at Drago's, hit the piano bar at Pat O's and rode the bull at the Bourbon Cowboy! The next morning we went to Mardi Gras World before boarding and it was incredible... except the tour guide called King Cake a glorified cinnamon roll. She should be drawn and quartered for insulting our heritage like that!

The next day, I boarded a cruise ship for my first time. The Triumph is HUGE! I had no idea it would be that big. According to our room steward, it was a sold out cruise and the ship was packed. It's incredible to me that they were able to feed that many people! Needless to say, we ate, drank, danced, gambled, enjoyed the spa and laughed our entire time on board and got some serious sun at Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. Of course, shopping is sport for me so we had a ton of fun in the market at Cozumel!

On our return, being Mardi Gras fans, we visited Plush Appeal, Beads by the Dozen and Jefferson Variety Store. We capped off our trip with poboys from Crabby Jack's. If you haven't been there, it's incredible!

Well that's it for my book report on what I did for summer vacation! I'm so glad I don't actually have to write these any more!
