Junior Seau, who played 20 seasons in the NFL and was a 12 time Pro-Bowler was found dead in his California home of an apparent suicide. 

Seau played  12 seasons with the San Diego Chargers before moving on to the Miami Dolphins.  After a brief retirement in 2006, he continued his career with the New England Patriots before retiring again in 2009.  Seau played in two Superbowls, one with the Chargers and the other with the Patriots.

Seau was found dead early Wednesday morning in his home, the apparent victim of a self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.  Police are investigating the matter as a suicide.  Junior Seau leaves behind three children and an ex-wife.
