As they've done for the past several years, the Bossier Sheriff's Department will once again open the department's rifle range to the public on 3 consecutive October weekends so that hunters can sight in their rifles.

The range, located at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road in Plain Dealing, will be open on these dates and times:

  • October 7 from 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
  • October 14 from 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
  • October 21 from 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards.  Basic targets will be available at the range, but shooters can also bring their own paper targets.  You’ll need to bring your own weapons and ammunition, since none will be available at the range.  You may also bring your own hearing and eye protection, but these will be available at the range, if needed.
