A Shreveport man is in jail for having sex with a high school student.

Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington says in a news release that 46-year-old Jonathan Gill was an employee contracted by the Bossier Parish School Board. He's charged with prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student for having sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl off-campus in December.

At the time, Gill was employed with The Princeton Review and contracted as an ACT Prep Coach, but the victim was not enrolled in one of Gills prep courses.

Louisiana Revised Statue 14:81.4 states prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student occurs when the student is between 17 and 21 years of age and the victim is a student at the school in which the educator is assigned, employed or working at the time of the offense.

Gill was booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility with bond set at $5,000.  Bossier detectives continue to investigate.
