A parish-wide burn ban in Bossier Parish has been lifted, effective immediately.

Fire chiefs in the Bossier Parish Fire Districts, which include the towns of Haughton and Plain Dealing, determined recent rainfall in the area was sufficient to lift the ban at this time. The fire chiefs first issued a burn ban August 11 due to extremely dry weather conditions.

Fire departments in the parish will be closely monitoring weather conditions, and the ban could be reinstated if hot and dry conditions return to the area.
