Bossier Elementary Teacher Now Charged with Rape

A Bossier Parish elementary school physical education teacher who was arrested earlier this week on video voyeurism now faces a charge of rape of an another elementary school student.

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives charged 47-year-old Aubrey “Perry” Norcross Bossier City, with 1^st degree rape Friday afternoon, following a thorough investigation that began earlier this week.  With this current charge, Norcross is accused of sexually assaulting an elementary school student on the campus of Benton Elementary School.

Norcross is locked up in Bossier Max and faces a total bond of $900,000 ($700,000 on the 1^st degree rape charge and $200,000 on the charge of video voyeurism.)

“As Sheriff, parent, and a grandparent, I fully understand the concerns that parents have when they hear about this type of vile behavior,” said Sheriff Whittington.  “It’s disgusting, plain and simple.

“But I want to reassure parents of students at Benton Elementary School that this man is in jail and will not harm your children any longer,” said Sheriff Whittington.

We have one of the best school systems here in Bossier Parish, and I am thankful that the administrators, parents, and children who helped bring this case to our attention so we could properly and swiftly investigate.  Our detectives have been working tirelessly over the past few days on this case, interviewing countless adults and children, as we sought answers.

I encourage parents to have honest and open discussions with their children about inappropriate touching and behavior.

The Sheriff is also working with Superintendent Smith on ways we can partner to educate young students and parents alike about this delicate, yet very important subject.

Sheriff Whittington also understands that an arrest like this prompts other victims of sexual assault - whether with this suspect or others – to come forward.

“We take these reports of sexual assault and misconduct very seriously,” said Sheriff Whittington, “and we encourage children to tell someone they trust, whether it’s their parents, grandparents, principal, or school resource officer about any inappropriate touching or interaction.  Tell someone.  And please report it by calling the Bossier Sheriff’s Office at 965-2203 or your local law enforcement agency so we can properly investigate these cases, get young people the help they need, and bring perpetrators to justice.”

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives are continuing their investigation.
