Tonight in Winnsboro, Louisiana, the Bossier Dixie Majors All Stars (19 and under) beat Terrebone to win the Dixie State Championship!  Bossier defeated Terrebone Monday night to send them to the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament.  Terrebone fought their way through this bracket to bring on the inevitable...a rematch!  In a real nail biter, Terrebone defeated Bossier 5-4 in the first game of the day that began at 4pm with a heat index nearing 110.  Since Bossier was unbeaten prior to this, another game began 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.  And Bossier didn't squander this opportunity.  Having lost to Terrebone last year, they had a score to settle and this they did.  Coming out in the bottom of the first inning (Bossier was home team for this one) Bossier jumped to a quick 4-0 lead.  In the top of the 2nd, Terrebone scored 2 making it a 4-2 game.  Then in the bottom of the 2nd, Haughton's Buddy McCoy hit another bomb!  A 3 run homerun that made the score 7-2.  From that point, Bossier never looked back and by the 6th inning tacked on 2 more runs making it 9-2!  Benton pitcher Jerry Lawerence kept Terrebone scoreless from this point through the 5th inning.  Kolbe Schufft from Haughton came in to relieve in the top of the 6th and only allowed 1 hit in his 2 inning appearance.  Bossier wins 9-2 and will now advance to the World Series in Ozark, Alabama on July 30th.  Congratulations to these fine boys and Coaches Brandon Hudson and Matt Angel!  Job well done!
