‘Big Brother’ Star ‘Evel’ Dick Donato Is HIV Postive

He's known as one of the toughest competitors in 'Big Brother' history but on Wednesday, 'Evel' Dick Donato revealed that he is battling HIV.  I, Julie K. am a huge fan of the show and have watched it every summer for at least the past 9 years.  So I was upset when I heard this news yesterday.

You may remember in 2007 Donato and his daughter Danielle were both on season 8 of "Big Brother" with Dick taking home the grand prize of 500K. Both father and daughter returned to the house in 2011, but Donato left six days into the competition. At the time, the show explained that Donato had to leave due to personal reasons and now we finally know why. According to People magazine, Dick confirms that he left 'Big Brother' after producers learned that he was HIV positive, and was forced to quit the game.

Donato says that despite his diagnosis, he is doing well these days.
