Benton Elementary School nailed a double bulls-eye.  The Tiger archers took home 2 world titles from the 2018 National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) World Tournament!  The contest is put together through archery programs offered in Louisiana schools and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Out of 616 elementary-aged girls competing, Hannah McKenzie came in 5th individually with a score of 284.  The young dead-eye would lead the Tiger archers to victory in the Bulls-Eye and 3-D Challenge divisions.

Benton Elementary may have taken home the gold, but they weren't only ones from our area to find the cherry.  The Arklatexhomepage.com reports that Kingston Elementary brought home 2nd place honors in Bulls-Eye and the 3D Challenge, Benton Middle School took home 2nd, and Haughton Middle finished 3rd in their division.  You can be sure that the thousands of competing students from around the world went home knowing Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men are amateur archers compared to the kids of Louisiana.

To celebrate all of their victories, a celebration is planned to celebrate all of the archers  at 4 p.m. Monday, July 2nd at Benton Elementary.
