ALS Can Kiss My Bass was started last year by Jimmy and Mickie Roberts. Jimmy was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2007. After a trip to Washington, D.C. last May, the couple realized how blessed they were that Jimmy had survived this horrible disease for eight years.

It  was then they decided to make a difference in the local area by raising awareness and funds for local people and their families stricken with ALS. They are dedicated to provide funding to PALS (people with ALS) in this area to help with expenses PALS might incur during their fight.

Jimmy and Mickie Roberts are partnering with the ALS Association for the second annual bass fishing tournament called, "ALS Can Kiss My Bass". It will be held at Red River South Marina just south of Bossier City on Hwy 71 and will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015. Registration will begin at 5:00 A.M. and the tournament will be held from 6:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. with an awards ceremony at 2:00 P.M.

The entry fee is $35.00 per person or $70.00 per team. You will receive a free koozie and wrist bracelet if you pre-register by Friday, July 31, 2015. Merchandise will also be available for sale the day of the tournament. The Roberts family will also serve BBQ plates for $8.00 each.

All proceeds from this tournament will benefit the ALS Association and will raise funds to help support our local ALS families dealing with this horrible disease. Join them for this event to help bring awareness and raise funds for a good cause.

They also need donated items for the BBQ plates as well as prizes for each hourly weigh-in. Please contact them for details on how you can help.
