Just in case you've ever wondered just how different things are in China compared to here in the good old USA, here's a great example.
Whenever we hear a woman screaming for help and the sound seems to be coming from between two walls, we most often, will attempt to see what's the matter.  But not in China.

There, they stay completely away from the sound because it's probably a ghost.  That's exactly what happened about a week ago. A woman was walking home in Anhui, in eastern China, and tried to take a shortcut through a narrow passage between
buildings.

The passage finally narrowed too much and she ended up getting stuck, so she started screaming for help.  But no one in the buildings would help her because they apparently all believed they were hearing a shrieking ghost!!! And she wound up being trapped there for seven hours!

Finally, someone walking by heard the screams, and thought they might be coming from a non-ghost human.   So he called for help. Firefighters got the woman out of the wall in about 20 minutes, and she was okay.

Check out this video (in Chinese) of firefighters and the actual rescue.
