Seattle Seahawks linebacker and Super Bowl 48 MVP Malcolm Smith didn't see this one coming, and apparently neither did those working security at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.

During Smith's post-game speech, a man burst up onto the stage and grabbed the mic as Smith discussed being named MVP.

"Investigate 9/11," the man said. "9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government."

According to NJ.com, the man is Matthew Mills, a "truther" from Brooklyn, New York.

Amazingly, Mills later walked the news outlet through the process of sneaking into MetLife Stadium. His explanation reads like something out of a movie script, with an old press badge somehow fooling security working the stadium and a simple 'I'm running late' sufficient to get him not only inside the facility, but close enough to share his thoughts about 9/11 with the world.

It's pretty amazing that an old press pass and cliché story helped Mills circumvent the professionals working at security checkpoints in the stadium during one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

Let's hope security at the Sochi Winter Olympics is a little tighter.
