Just imagine that you were on a picnic with your friends at Cypress/Black Bayou. Things are rolling along normal as always until one of your friends begins to choke. Could you save that person from choking to death? More importantly, could your kids?

Well, just a few weeks ago, Zach Furman, a 9-year old in Minneapolis, was at a school picnic. He and another friend, Aidan Roberts, began looking for their their buddy Fletcher to see if he  wanted to sit with them. And it's a miracle they did, because when they found Fletcher, he was choking on a French fry, with no one else around to help him.

At first, Aidan thought Fletcher was throwing up, but Zach recognized that he was choking. So, while Aidan went for help, Zach sprang into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver and saved Fletcher's life!

As it turns out, Zach had only learned about the Heimlich just two weeks earlier when his Dad taught it to him.

Check out this video about the incident and listen to this little hero's story and just how modest he is about the whole thing.

When someone asked if he's a hero, he said no, it was no big deal; he's just glad his buddy is okay.
