30th Annual Heritage Syrup Festival

The first time my boyfriend took me to meet his family he informed me we would be heading into his hometown Henderson, Texas and go to the syrup festival. I thought he was kidding, but it turns out it has been his family tradition for many years. I went and saw Henderson, Texas in a completely different way. We have gone every year since then, it's a tradition I have come to love. Downtown is alive, people are everywhere and they're Christmas shopping. A bunch of different businesses show up and set up shop, from cute clothes to ornaments. There is an area just for classic cars if you know someone who is passionate about cars you have to take them to see these cars! The antique shops are open, all kinds of delicious food vendors are there, you can get your typical fair food like turkey legs and funnel cakes, or you can get some authentic gyros and tacos. Downtown Henderson is a packed place!

The coolest part, at least I think it is, The Depot Museum. that is where the syrup making, folk art, story-telling, and antique tractor exhibit is. The festival is free, but you do have to pay a small fee to get into the Depot Museum. You can see all the cool ways they make syrup and check out beautiful woodwork that's up for sale. The 30th Annual Heritage Festival is on Saturday, November 10th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Just type in 404 West Main, Henderson, Texas and you can find parking surrounding Downtown.
