Local chef accused of murder is headed to trial Monday.

Jury selection kicks off tomorrow in the trial of 60-year-old Mark Colby. He is accused of killing his long-time girlfriend.

Colby faces 2nd degree murder charges in the September 2014 shooting death of 53-year-old Angela Godley. Colby and Godley were partners in the Noble Savage Tavern in downtown Shreveport.

Godley's body was found in the laundry room of the house she and Colby shared on Bayou Drive in Shreveport's Shreve Island neighborhood. She had been shot several times in the upper body.

Colby fled to Mexico shortly after the shooting, but he was captured a few days later.

Assistant Caddo Parish District Attorneys Britney Green and Ron Stamps will prosecute while Curtis Joseph is Colby’s defense attorney.
